Songleader and Jewish Musician
Devin Leslie first attended Jewish summer camp in 2011, where he fell in love with Judaism, nature, and music. He became a songleader to help spread the magic that made Judaism exciting and accessible to him.
At the age of 20, Devin brings eight years of Jewish songleading experience and thirteen years of experience as a guitarist and vocalist to synagogues, summer camps, Jewish community centers, and private events. Devin composes and shares Jewish music to develop connection and belonging in the communities he visits.
Devin has the ability not only to energize children and teens, but to foster a beautiful intergenerational bond between people of all ages. Devin has shared his brand of inspiring songleading at Camp Tawonga, URJ Camp Newman, and synagogues and JCCs on both coasts.
In 2020, Devin was recognized as a winner of the Jewish Star North American Talent Search.
In 2022, Devin relocated to New York City to enter the Jewish Theological Seminary as a List College student in the Joint Degree Program with Columbia University.
Devin leads all kinds of programs for all age groups: young families, religious school-age children, teens, and adults. Some upcoming events are listed to the right.

"Working with Devin is a dream. We collaborated on a handful of B'nai Mitzvah ceremonies over the past few years and I couldn't be happier with the teamwork. He's enthusiastic, organized, responsive, relates really well to the B'nai Mitzvah families we worked with, and is a fantastic song leader. Devin knows how to respond to the moment. He offers music that opens the heart, brings forth laughter, and holds space beautifully in a transition. He brings his whole self to his work and helps everyone to feel so comfortable and at ease, even if it is their first experience of a Simcha or even a Jewish prayer service." - Mia Zimman, Service Leader and B'nai Mitzvah guide
"Devin served as our temple's religious school song leader during the 2021-2022 school year and he was AWESOME! I appreciate that Devin takes initiative, is reliable, demonstrates flexibility, and seeks growth. Ahead of each religious school session, Devin took the initiative to create an engaging t'filah lineup and learning plan for music time with our youngest grades. He sought to improve his craft and brought new ideas as he grew and as our community's needs changed throughout the year. I loved when he would create his own dances that he then taught the children. Devin's talent and passion inspired our learners and enhanced the quality of every aspect of our program. Children loved coming to religious school because they loved singing, dancing, and playing games with Devin! We will miss Devin as he moves on to new endeavors but I know he will be an asset to any Jewish community he serves in the future." - Rabbi Liora Alban, Peninsula Temple Sholom
